🚶‍♀️ Public Rights of Way (PRoW)
We are fortunate to have so many accessible footpaths and bridleways legally recognised as Public Rights of Way (PRoW) in the Lower Wharfedale Area. All walkers can help protect and maintain these by reporting issues such as broken stiles and damaged signage to the relevant local authority. In our area these are: North Yorkshire County Council, Bradford Metropolitan District Council and Leeds City Council. You can find on-line maps of the PRoWs on each authority’s website.
To make a report you will need an Ordinance Survey grid reference, a description and ideally a digital photograph, or photographs. The authority will then send through a case number so you can follow through the repairs or issue resolution by the authority’s paths team.
Do take a look at the PRoW on-line maps and you will see that each path has a unique name and number.
